Source Image Tips
Start big — Always create your icon at the largest size needed (1024x1024 for app icons). Scaling down works; scaling up doesn't.
Use simple designs — Icons need to work at 16x16 pixels. Complex details disappear at small sizes.
Test at multiple sizes — A design that looks great at 512px might become an unrecognizable blob at 32px.
Ensure square format — Icons are square. Non-square images will be cropped or stretched.
